A Community Of Wellness

The Suffolk Veterinary Group Animal Wellness & Laser Surgery Center takes great pride in our community.  We live local, visit the same places our families do, and participate in a lot of the same activities that make Long Island great.

We are part of the Town of Brookhaven in Suffolk County, New York, and mostly serve the towns of Selden (11784), Centereach (11720), Coram (11727), Farmingville (11738), and Port Jefferson Station (11776/11777), although we have seen patients from as far away as Brooklyn, Manhattan, The Bronx, and Queens.  We are located in the Middle Country Central School District.

And we're always a short phone call away at 631-696-2400 if you have questions.

Here is just some of our community involvement.

Box Tops For Education Collection Drive

A Semi-Annual Event Spring and Back-To-School Seasons

Because we are a part of the Middle Country Central School District community, we at the Suffolk Veterinary Group Animal Wellness & Laser Surgery Center whole-heartily support the aspirations and educational goals of all our local students.  In order to help them reach those goals, we want to provide this unique opportunity to our Suffolk Veterinary Group friends and family to contribute towards our community’s students even if they don’t have human kids themselves.  Bringing companion animals and children together improves everybody’s lifetime of wellness, and we hope through this one-of-a-kind special offer to make it easier for people in our Middle Country community to contribute towards our collective responsibility to our community’s children while also providing quality veterinary medicine for their fur-kids.

We welcome our veterinary community members to also donate any Box Tops For Education they may have without needing to receive veterinary credit for them.  All Box Tops For Education contributions are greatly appreciated.

As the only veterinary hospital to support such a unique opportunity going on three years now, we've raised over $400.00 with our Box Tops For Education Collection Drive to date.  It doesn't seem like a lot, but every penny counts to the students.  The following schools have received Box Tops For Education as donated by Suffolk Veterinary Group friends and families.  If you have a particular school you'd like to recommend to receive Box Tops donations, do not hesitate to let us know!

Stagecoach Elementary School (Middle Country Central School District)
New Lane Elementary School (Middle Country Central School District)
Jericho Elementary School (Middle Country Central School District)
North Coleman Road Elementary School (Middle Country Central School District)

Hawkins Path Elementary School (Middle Country Central School District)
Bicycle Path Preschool and Kindergarten (Middle Country Central School District)
Oxhead Road Elementary (Middle Country Central School District)

Arrowhead Elementary School (Three Village Central School District)

This also means that Suffolk Veterinary Group patients have received a combined discount of $400.00 off veterinary services for their pets.  Donating your Box Tops For Education during our collection drives is a win-win for everyone.

Suffolk County Community College
Veterinary Science Technology Program

Interns learn how Licensed Veterinary Technicians contribute to the atmosphere and management of a small animal veterinary clinic with hands-on training!  Through our partnership with Suffolk County Community College, Suffolk Veterinary Group Animal Wellness & Laser Surgery Center is proud to offer students of the Veterinary Science Technology program opportunities to gain real world experience in what it is like for a Licensed Veterinary Technician on the job. Intern positions with Suffolk Veterinary Group are available during every SCCC semester they are offered.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; assisting LVTs and DVMs with examination and treatment protocols, surgical and laboratory monitoring under LVT supervision, and generating a positive experience for our families and patients at our clinic.  Over the course of their internship, students will learn how to function in our team as any fully fledged LVT does.  Our current Office Manager is a graduate of the SCCC Veterinary Science Technology Program.

Testimonial

I want to thank Dr. Winkler and his staff. They are the most compassionate animal care center ever. And when we recently had to put our kitty down, no where else will you receive the compassion they show. God bless them for their kindness and caring hearts.
