Dog Bite Prevention For Children
Ms. Winkler is not only a Licensed Veterinary Technician, but a mother as well. She understand the importance of pets in a child's life, and fully supports the integration of pets and children in any family. Unfortunately, neither children, nor our pets, are born with the knowledge of how to interact properly and safely.
After her own experiences with the mixing of children and pets in a household, Ms. Winkler is currently attending and researching continuing education regarding the prevention of dog bites to children, as well as ways to help children learn proper manners around animals. She has been very successful in assisting her own sons overcome some of their anxieties around dogs by having them assist during Puppy Kindergarten classes, and teaching both children how their behaviors affect both the cats and dogs they will encounter during their lifetimes.
Please, check back at this page because we are working hard to put together a comprehensive program to assist children in learning how to interact safely and positively with animals, as well as to offer to our community, free of charge, dog bite prevention seminars geared toward preschool and school age children.
Doggone Safe has a wonderful bite prevention program that Ms. Winkler has used with both her children. Click Here To Visit Doggone Safe And Learn About "Be A Tree"

I want to thank Dr. Winkler and his staff. They are the most compassionate animal care center ever. And when we recently had to put our kitty down, no where else will you receive the compassion they show. God bless them for their kindness and caring hearts.
